The Pieces Back Together-Poem

A heart can be broken in many different ways.
You just remember which friend goes, which friend stays.
A life is made up of those you hold most dear.
Make sure you hold onto them, and keep them near.

Sometimes you forget that they do want to help.
Then they call just to talk, and that helps in itself.
How did they know that you needed that time?
That's the glory of friends, and the beauty of life.

Your closest friends are there when you fall apart.
They put back together the pieces of your heart.
Always be grateful, be friends to them too.
Be there for them always, just like they’re there for you.

Diamond in the Rough

She was strong, that’s for sure. And her heart was of Gold.
Nobody knew what her future could hold.
All except her, that is, for she knew.
The things in her future she was destined to do.

She may have tried to tell them, but they wouldn’t believe.
From tauntings and teasings there was no reprieve.
But she knew what she wanted, she didn’t care what they said.
What really mattered was what happened in the end.

When she was knocked down, nobody picked her up.
Every lonely step was the size of a jump.
Perhaps they didn't mean to make it so rough.
But her by herself wasn't always enough.

Walking in the rainShe was hard on herself, she had great expectations.
The pleasures life had were even greater temptations.
She held onto herself though, knowing soon she’d succeed.
Like everyone else though, there was something she’d need.

When the chance came along, and the person to help her,
The God-given gift was a miracle for sure.
She didn't let go, and he helped her along.
For once life became such a beautiful song.

She knew she could make it probably all on her own.
But with someone to help her, distance was unknown.
She just needed a push, encouragement, and trust.
And that was the magic, the fairy-tale dust.

She became the greatest, and so did her friend.
Towards the progression there’s never an end.
Her friend was the key to unlock all she had.
Just like a brother, or kind, loving dad.

The Country Princess

A young girl born then, and raised quite wild,
Running 'round barefoot and free.
Her hair always tangled, her clothes ripped and dirty,
From climbing around tree to tree.

Her parents may have tried to raise her up proper,

To a beautiful, young lady with grace.
But to the unloving eye and the world’s hateful heart,
She was nothing less than a disgrace.

But in her heart she knew she was someone special,
Her mind was so different from others.
Her spirit was kind, she could talk to the wind,
She saw life in its all different colors.

When a painter came by looking for all life’s beauty,

To paint underneath golden skies.
He may have passed by her, not really seeing,
If not for the light in her eyes.

“Here sits a girl who prefers to be wild,
Than captive to a mean, hateful world.
Though she is the kindest, most innocent treasure,

The world all looks down on this girl.

The princess inside her is clear to be seen,
The golden crown shines brightly through.
A portrait of her I will paint if she lets me,
And sell it for a million or two.

Though sitting there quietly, in the breath of the country,
And muddy with feet in the lake.
The beauty inside her of her loving heart,
Is the portrait I wish I could take."

A princess is never the dress and the kingdom,
The fancy, the crown, or the trinkets.
It’s the love and the kindness, the magic and brightness,
All I saw in The Country Princess.

I'm Going Anyway-Poem

She said: I am going.
They said: It will be hard and you will get tired.
She said: "I'm going anyway."

The trials will hurt you, the problems will thwart you.
"I'm going anyway."

You could break your bones, from rocks, sticks, and stones.
You could be alone, lose friends you have known.
"I'm going anyway."

You could lose it all, and in the end, fall.
You could start to cry, you could even die.
"I'm going anyway."

Everything could stand against you,
It could maime and crush you.
It could all come to naught,
And you could be forgot.
It could just near kill you,
So will you still go? Will you? Will you?

And she said: "Yes.
I know what I want. I know what I've fought.
I know I will hurt. But I'll smile through the dirt.
I could lose all my friends, but it's not the end.
The trials will come, I'll still continue on.
The changes you'll see, you'll see who I'll be.
I know what I want, and I will not give up!"

"I am going anyway."

The Belief of Existence

Everything is and everything isn't.

What we see or live in the present.
An object exists only if given permission,

And then if not, it's just non-existant.

To us with our minds there's a whole different world,
Where things exist only when they've been told.
The love of a human, the sadness of a beast.
The greatest of the great, and the least of the least.

They're all only there when we decide them to be.
Turn off our minds, and then we can't see.
For what is existing? Just believing in it.
Running the race, and failing a bit.

And what is failing? Just winning, but not.

Then what is warming? Just cold with some hot.
What is existing? It's believing to be.
For without spirit or heart, you're nothing to see.

But then what is seeing? Physically that.
It's using your eyes, and looking at facts.
And then what's REAL seeing? Spiritually now.
It's using your heart and believing, no doubt.

But what is believing? Is it something you do?

Something you see? Or something that's you?
Something you know? Or something you feel?
Something that's true, but not really real?

What IS believing? That's a questions to answer.
Believing is dancing when you're not a dancer.
Believing is jumping while knowing you'll fall.
And believing is living when you've lost it all.

Believing is hurting and still getting up.

Believing is loving when you've had enough.
Believing is seeing and doing and thinking.
Believing is jumping and falling and sinking.

Believing is simply all that you do.
All that you see, and all that is you.
It is all that is true, that you know, that you feel,
Even if it all is not really real.

Into the Journey

Into the deepness, and into the darkness.
Blindness is really what makes us See.

Into the quiet, and into the stillness.
Silence is really what makes us Be.

Into the thunder and into the earthquake.
Chaos is really what makes us Be Still.

Into the wretched, the misery, the hurting.
Into the stabbing, the distant, the torture.
Into the empty, the lonely, the falling.

Hurting is really what makes us Feel!

From Sweetness to Salt

A now lost friend? Is this the end?
I thought it would last.
Is this just a test?

How could this end? I don't understand.
The good times and bad.
The happy and sad.

A friendship of bliss. A trial like this.
A feeling of hurt.
A feeling like dirt.

What can I do, to fix this in you?
Who can I be,
To change this in me?

Is this all my fault? From sweetness to salt?
These problems I caused.
So much now is lost.

We wish I could be, all you see in me.
And I wish you knew,
How much you could do.

Downward Skies

Here it comes,
There goes another song.
One more look,
And there is nothing wrong.
A gentle push,
A fall from downward skies.
Here it goes,
Just give it one more try.

Pain in a Dream

This is one of my very favorite poems. The frustration and dilemma in it is very real for many people. It becomes a difficult decision that they have to make. What they decide..... determines their life.
*******************************
Pain in a Dream

Everyday, a dream. Everyday, a pain.
Everyday, a wish. Everyday, just this.

All are connected in this part of life.
You can't have the dream now, without the strife.
For what you achieve, the work that you do.
The place that you go, the pain is there too.

It's just one more thing, one more hurt, and now what?
Is this now the time when you just give up?
The hurt could just kill you. And you understand,
One more swift blow and that could be the end.

Do you give up your dream to escape all the pain?
In doing that though you would lose all you've gained.
You fight in the day, and you cry out at night.
But God hasn't forgotten you. You're there in His sight.

He loves you, He helps you, He knows how you struggle.
When you're beaten down, He pulls you out of the rubble.
Don't give up on your dream. The pain might come too.
Just cry in the night, then stand up and be you.

Don't let go of your dream, for it's all you've got.
Don't let the pain kill you, live the fight that you've fought.
Pain is the fire inside of your soul.
And the purpose behind it maybe someday you'll know.

Where She's Lost

Now I feel lost, and you sound like you’re found.
Didn’t it used to be the other way around?
But maybe still with help from you,
Someday I can be found again too.

Hopefully though we can still stick together,
And help make this burden just a little less heavier.
I don’t want to sever this, or tear us apart.
Because deep inside me, you’re still in my heart.

I felt it impossible. I felt that today.
So why did it all still happen this way?
I couldn’t have stopped it, even though I had tried.
But I still felt something inside of me die.
